A community-wide garage sale fundraiser supported by community donations of gently used and new conditioned items. Donations accepted at Access Church 4911 Losco Rd. in Mandarin May 26-28 1PM to 8PM. Sale takes place at Access Church May 29-30 7 AM to 4PM. We will have some local restaurant coupons/vouchers, a Jamberry Nails table, household, sporting goods, children’s items, furniture, clothing, etc. This event will benefit the Delos Santos family. This is a long-time local family who has sustained the devastating rare diagnosis of Corticobasal Degeneration. Rowena Delos Santos, the mother in the family, suffers from disorientation, dementia, movement disfunction including tremors and rigidity, among other debilitating symptoms. At this time it is an irreversible, incurable disease. She can no longer continue in her 20+ year career as a Physical Therapist. The family lives off of Social Security Disability, as her long-term disability insurance claim was denied. Her husband if her full-time caregiver. Their daughter is 13 years old. Please help us assist the family with medical expenses as well as travel expenses to see her family in the Philippines, which she hasn’t seen in 13 years. It is critical that she travel now as her disease process is a quickly progressing one. Help spread the word, donate items to sell, and come and shop for a worthy cause.

Enjoy three days of fun, laughs, adventure and s’mores at the YMCA Camp Immokalee!

Experience camp as an active adult with a variety of activities that include zip lining, archery, fishing and canoeing. Enjoy s’mores by the camp fire, a late night movie and the Saturday Night Disco Party.

Each morning, participate in yoga, Tai Chi and morning devotional. Campers will also have the opportunity to help prepare the camp grounds for the Y summer youth camp. Our goal and purpose is to provide clean, safe family fun while raising funds to provide fresh water wells to regions in dire need. Current project designated in Las Salinas Nicaragua. Admission is by donation, suggested $10 per family per visit. Concession stand also on sight with real Hawaiian shave ice, all-beef hot dogs, grilled sliders, refreshments and snacks. Covered tents with picnic tables also on site. Every Saturday and Sunday – 12:00 noon to 4:30 p.m. through Aug. 30th. West intracoastal area. All ages from toddlers to adults. Attention all homeschoolers and all families with school aged children, Florida's Home Education Resources & Information (H.E.R.I.) presents our 30th Annual Home Education Convention! It will be held at the Prime Osborn III Convention Center, 1000 Water Street, in downtown Jacksonville on Friday, July 24 from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday, July 25 from 8:30am to 6pm.

Our featured speaker is Michael Farris, Chairman and Cofounder of Home School Legal Defense Association and the Chancellor of Patrick Henry College. He was the founding president of each organization.

You won't want to miss these two action-packed days with hourly seminars to assist newcomers and veterans in their homeschooling adventure and numerous vendors as they display curriculum samples and educational supplemental materials. In addition, many local vendors will be showcasing their extracurricular programs. A College and Career Fair section will be open on Saturday from 1pm to 6pm. Mini ACT/SAT workshops for teens will be available, as well as information for parents.

All H.E.R.I. members may pre-register on our website at www.HERIJax.com for only $20 or pay $30 after June 24. If you are not a H.E.R.I. member, you may pre-register on our website for $30, or pay $40 after June 24. Admission fee includes all immediate family members.

The Vestcor Companies is hosting its 20th Annual Charity Run to benefit local nonprofit organizations Saturday, July 25, 2015 at The Jacksonville Landing. Beginning at 7 p.m., the course will take runners across the Main Street and Acosta bridges. Following the race, a block party and awards ceremony will be held.
